Anything "Al pastor" here is amazing. Specially the sopes.

Jarocho is one of the best places to get cocteles de Camaron. Today I ate a torta Cubana and it was delicious. So much flavor in the torta. I recommend it.

GREAT tacos al Pastor !!! Been there twice now and they're consistently delicious. Service is fast and friendly, clean seating inside or on their front patio. Tiny salsa bar has all that you need. They serve chips for you while your food is being prepared. This is my new favorite Mexican place on the West Side of Ventura.

One of the best grilled shrimp platters I've had anywhere at a very reasonable price. Very friendly staff also. Will definitely be back.

This is a small Mexican restaurant, I do recommend the shrimp cocktail very tasty!

El Jarocho is definitely one of the top Mexican food joints on the Ave, especially now that we're down one with Ortiz Taco Time having changed ownership. They are well know for their seafood.Most things Ive had here have been really good and this is my go to spot for Chile Relleno burritos- super fresh, prepared daily. Really excellent salsa bar with a wide selection.The one item I've had here that I wouldnt order again but would still recommend is the Ceviche. Just a little too "authentic" for my taste but alot of people love it.Now, on the other hand, the one item that I would never order again or reccomend to anyone is the pastor. Possibly the most unappetizing take on this item I've ever had the displeasure of trying... basically tastes like it was marinated in ketchup, maybe with with a little mesquite seasoning added, then just cooked off. PLEASE JAROCHO- FIX THIS. It's an insult to the quality of your restaurant.

Very good shrimp cocktails

Amazing food! First time going here after doing a quick search for Ceviche in Ventura. I was not disappointed. Their shrimp ceviche was simply amazing. WIth that I ordered 3 pollo taco and a bean, rice, and cheese burrito. Everything was solid. Putting this in one of my top 5 Mexican places. Mainly for that delicious ceviche.

Very Best Mexican Food Place

The breaded deep fried shrimp was very good!!It came with 11 breaded deep fried shrimp, rice, beans and a small salad on the same plate with about 8 french fries.The have a large menu to choose from, maybe a litle too much, lots of decisions !!!

Good food and good service

Love this place. The food is fantastic. Verde is good. The Mole is good. Burritos are awesome. Salsa bar is good. The rice is perfect. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Temporary housing down the street. I've stop here 3 times already. Not done yet. The place is small. Don't expect much in the building and location, but do come for the food. Outdoor seats also.

OMG.... The best Shrimp Cocktail I've ever had. the food is equisite and well worth the 5 stars I'm giving. the staff is super friendly and attentive. I'm willing to drive from Huntington Beach again just to stop here. (FYI.... Huntington Beach is appox. 100 miles from this great place)

Shrimp cocktail was bomb, the habanero salsa is fire and goes great with the cocktail. Service was great. Will be returning to try the cochinita pibil tacos.

They didn't have anything on the menu ended up getting sopes and gorditas, masa was sweet and I think they used cottage cheese to top it. Barely had any meat spent more then 20 bucks long wait not worth it

Okay place to eat for Mexican food.

Food Is undeniably tasty. Yet, it's a super super small business with an indoor capacity of about 15 people, if that. And outdoor space with only two small tables. Its definitely overpriced, considering there's a taqueria just two blocks down the road that serves their meals with homemade corn tortillas, and still is less expensive and a lot more authentic than El Jarocho. Employees don't always exercise proper customer service, and the parking is very limited.

Haven't been here, but the food looks really good in the pictures! Probably worth checking out

The moment we entered we were greeted by the cashier, helpful and courtious. This place is pretty cozy inside with outside seating as well, which is where we decided to sit. We ordered the mixed seafood ceviche, and the shrimp cocktail with mixed seafood, both were absolutely delicious, my gf shrimp cocktail had A LOT of shrimp, so much that she decided to take it home because she got full. They are also very generous with there avocado! Mid-way through our meal the Chef came out and asked how our food was, doesn't get any better than this! We will definitely be back.

Shrimp cocktail and camarones mojo are so good. It smells amazing as soon as you walk in, and the whole menu is impressive. The sauce on the corn burritos is so spicy and yummy. I have tried many others, and I think they are the best corn burritos on the Avenue.

The shrimp cocktail is the best in all Southern California came all the way from Bakersfield. Daniel is the man for top notch shrimp cocktails I'd pay $30 for these shrimp cocktails.

If you have not been to el Jarocho Mexican Restaurant located in the heart of Ventura..... you must go the food is exquisite, if you think this is a fast food joint you'll be terribly disappointed... this is the real deal mouth watering dishes that will have you coming back time after time again... the service is of the chart and the waitresses are extremely friendly always making sure everything is to your satisfaction... Love this authentic Mexican restaurant. I give it 5 stars

Small hole in the wall type of place. Nothing fancy from the outside. Interior is very small... maximum capacity is maybe 15 people. Food was very good though! I had the Super Burrito with carnitas... that burrito was hefty! Carnitas were tender and delicate. However, next time I go, I will be getting their coctel de camarones. They serve them in these huge goblets. There's gotta be at least 2 dozen shrimp in them. Counter service and kitchen worked quickly. Just wish they served beer there!

Love the food. Don't like the customer service. And they take quite a while to serve your food. But other than that food is so good. My favorite is the Nachos de al Pastor. So delish

eldorado's my favorite favorite favorite Mexican restaurant in Ventura they make the world's best torta I don't know if you've ever had a tornado before but if you haven't had one there then you have not had a good one there's are very light and the bread is very it's very puffy but it's just perfectly grilled on the one side to where it's as a tiny crunch to it their generous with their portions of meat and everything balances together extremely well to create a unique and wonderful dining experience if you would like to have a torta. They have other things there they have a full menu but I just love the torta.

Great ceviche! Good price, great service. You might have to wait for a table but it is worth it.

Best coctel mixto (shrimp, octopus, abalone) ever - mostly take away but a couple of tables inside and out. Salsas are so good and fresh. Muy delicioso!
